Nature of Works: Maintenance/remediation and construction works

Objectives:

  • Address safety concerns and deterioration of infrastructure
  • Improve access for users
  • Expand burial capacity
  • Improve general amenity and attractiveness of cemetery grounds

Duration: January – March 2021

Development Type: All works fall within the Exempt Development Codes of the NSW State Environmental Planning Policy (SEPP).

General Lawn – Retaining Wall and Pathway Remediation

  • Works to address safety concerns caused by the deterioration of existing infrastructure
  • Construction of a new access ramp to provide improved access from Dianella Parade
  • Replacement of footpaths to rectify uneven surfaces
  • Construction of a new retaining wall to replace the existing unstable wall
  • Installation of balustrades to provide improved perimeter edge protection
  • New landscaping
  • Works commence January 2021; completion March 2021

General Lawn Expansion

  • Grading of unused land on the south west edge of the site to create an additional 160 burial plots
  • Construction of new paths and access ways
  • Construction of new retaining wall and balustrades
  • New landscaping
  • Works commence January 2021; completion March 2021

Stormwater Pipe Remediation

  • Excavation, demolition, and disposal of an existing undersized stormwater pipe (off Coonangurra Circuit)
  • Installation of a new stormwater pit
  • Backfilling and landscaping
  • Works commence January 2021; completion March 2021
